Weigh Systems Ltd. is a privately owned company established
in 1977. We are dedicated to the sales and service of scale
systems to a variety of industries.
Who We Are...
Jim Reid, president of Canadian Weigh Systems began his career
in the electronics industry with Streeter Amet Corporation
of Grays Lake, Illinois. He was hired as a service engineer
responsible for equipment service and installation in the
Buffalo area.
Jim was soon able to use his extensive knowledge and became
responsible for the service and installation of equipment
in New York State and Canada. He then moved on, joining the
sales force and was responsible for the sales in Canada and
became one of Streeter Amets' top salesmen.
In 1969 Jim was requested to open the first Canadian Streeter
Amet Branch operation in Mississauga. Extensive inroads were
accomplished selling electronic weighing to the industrial
market, which include Dofasco and Stelco.
Jim then arranged to open Canadian Weigh Systems Ltd. in 1977,
with the blessing of the Streeter Amet's President. CWS was
open for business, selling for the most part, Streeter Amet
equipment customized by CWS. Since that time, Canadian Weigh
Systems Ltd. has grown to designing and supplying a line of
standard equipment and customized systems.
